i wonder why the 'film frame' is often part of the artwork.
is it to prove the authenticity of the analog picture, or showing off the brands of the used films to pretend professionality?
imo it's not adding anything to the content or meaning of the picture, annoyingly distracting.- i remember it being a way to show that the image was captured as is "in camera".
plus it creates a frame, no different from picking out a frame design in a store. stylistic choice, like all choices, some like it some don'ttodaysnew - it's like an ugly T-shirt with GUCCI all over it.stewart
