Llyod you don't even need to enter .com in your browser.
Just type qbn in Safari and behold the magic.

are there any keyboards with an "any" key?

I just discovered Safari's history flow today and found it surprisingly useful. Too bad about the lack of the back button - it'd be a great browser otherwise.

this works for firefox on pc:
qbn > ctrl+enter > www.qbn.com
qbn > shift+enter > www.qbn.net
qbn > ctrl+shift+enter > www.qbn.org

I wish my keyboard had a "Shut up" function right now. Sadly I have to do it the old fashion way.

control enter will usually add a .com

You could also use TextExpander or TypeIt4Me to setup keyboard shortcuts for it, or to select it from a menu...
or select '.com' in a document and drag it to the desktop..Now you have a text snippet of '.com' that you can drag anywhere you need it anytime! teh joy.

make it your self. (as there isn't any)

command +shift+ enter adds the .com to any word you type in the browser bar
