Good on ya folks.
At my studio we're having a charity art auction at the end of the week. Hopefully we can raise some serious monies for the cause.

At 100,000 pounds, really amazed at the generosity of people who are commonly generalised as...not generous.
In front of the local 99 Ranch Market (Asian Market), and we got alot of ones and fives, but then this chinese man approaches us and takes out his checkbook and writes one for 100USD. Awesome! 10min later this other person comes up and says he will donate 50 bucks, turns out he didn't have a fifty, so he gave us a 100 dollar bill!
We had about thirty of those barrels worth of canned food, with money making the bulk of our poundage.
One more week!

Lots of cans collected at the local Safeway and over 50 dollars in donations--over 200 pounds just counting cans!

This time of year, especially what has been going on with the economy is very tough on people, and this year it's all about giving to those in need, not breaking our goal or winning a free lunch. I ask that if you can, give whatever you can give, every bit counts. One dollar can buy nearly 2 kilos (4lb) of food. We are record holder for the biggest canned food drive within a two week period--372,000 lbs of food in 2005. Last year we raised over 50,000 dollars and 30,000 pounds of food--thats over 250,000 pounds. If you live in the Peninsula or even the Bay Area, the next two weeks, me as well as people from my school will be at supermarkets from Palo Alto to San Bruno, and everywhere in between collecting donations. But if you live a bit farther away and want to give, you can do so here:
