That's a sick shot...

Had a G7...sold it to my colleague who works in a photographic retail shop too. Want to get the G10 after Xmas....price reposition will certainly happen as Canon does it every year.....

i have a G9 and love it.. granted.. it can be a bit noisy.. i just like the way the camera feels.. i went to the store and instantly figured out how to use it.. very intuitive.. i shot all this japan stuff with my G9.. i just wish they would do it with a CMOS chip.. lower the pixel count..

^ agree with you. i own a g9 and would've preferred they lowered the pixel count for a better sensor... oh well. Hows the noise on the g10??
- jamesomega0
I'm actually a big fan of the DMC-LX3 that I just got in the mail. The G10 just felt too cumbersome.

nice! i always loved the lx2 and was undecided between that and the g9...

the LX3 shoots beautifully, it has a ton of manual features. One of the main reasons why I picked it over the G10 was the 24mm wide-angle leica lens. That, and Panasonic followed suit with the lower pixel count for the better sensor. I'm no pro photog by any means. But as far as point and shoot cameras go, it's definitely a keeper. One of the annoying things about the LX3 tho is its damn lens cap!
Here's a black and white macro shot I took this morning:

- a friend bought the lx3. i like it. i just don't like how the manual works. the g9/g10 is all dials .. i don't like menus

There's an unacceptable noise level above ISO 80 on the G10 according to DPReview, which is a pity 'cos it looks freakin' awesome. I take the majority of my shots (social ones at least) at night, so it's sadly not an option for me... I didn't realise Panasonic released such good equipment, but for the $$$ DPReview actually likes the DMC-LX3 more, I might check that one out as an Xmas present option :)

i don't want to think about this anymore cuz i was waiting for the longest time for a new version of the lx2 but alas, it didn't come so i got the g9... now i'm starting to get upset :(

The "technical" differences are still being argued concerning compression and such, but the DMC-LX3 is the Leica D-LUX 4's sister camera, at close to half the cost. Keep in mind, these are point'n'shoot camera's we're talking about, so you're obviously going to get better results from a DSLR in the same price range. But, i'm not a fan of carrying around lenses and a whole separate "bag" for capturing stuff I see.

Or just let the pictures speak for themselves:

Thinking of buying a G1 today, anybody got anything good/bad to say before I do?

I have a g10, it's ace from what I've seen. Not really had chance tp push it yet though. Was £340 on Amazon.

Does it come with a memory card? I have a cybershot at the mo but that takes memory stick duo so I guess Im going to have to invest in an sd card also?

WOW
at the Olympus Micro Four Thirds camera. Its about time someone took up this challenge of creating a great little camera with interchangeable lenses without having big pricetags.
Lomography has become huge but people would love a digital version, interchangeable lenses and attachments.
That was what i was looking for last year when looking for a digital camera after shooting with film on Holga and LC-A.
I opted for the Ricoh GX100 cos of its zoom, hotshoe and interchangeable lenses and the fact that sizewise it was very similar to my LC-A. It can fit in jeans pockets without too much of an unsightly "HEY LOOK GUYS IVE GOT A CAMERA ON ME" bulge.
I really hope Olympus hit the mark with these little cameras - look amazing.
