remove local formatting
(like paragraphs from Word doc.)is there a way to do it from "IN" InDesign
'cause the place and formatting options aren't working for me :-(

Just copy and paste rather than place?
Find and Replace?

Replace the word doc, but before you click ok in the dialog box, make sure the "Show Import Options" box is checked. It will let you take out all that crap.
- i did that but its full of paragraph returns????alicetheblue

or you can also go into Paragraph styles and delete the imported styles as well
- dlete styles is grayed out in PARA_STYLES in InDesign
