I'm making a 10 second video sting for a client, to be played on 40" plasma screens in a gym - I have been given a pixel size of 4795 x 2705 to work to, it seems a bit huge could this be right?

40 inch???? no way, it's res is probably 1920×1080

Is it going on a medical display?

thats res is impossible...

thats wayyyy huge. surely a 40" plasma isnt that high res.
im with ornj - its gotta be like 1920 x 1080 kind of sizes.

yeah with a resolution of that size you'd struggle to get anything to have a good enough processor to play the video! lol.

brother helv I think 1920x1080 is HD,
how long to render those 10 sec?? 3 days??

I think I'll stick with 1920x1080 - it's the same aspect ratio of 16:9 so I'm sure it's fine. I think they're getting the resolution from a sticker on the side of the tv screen! They are a gym and god bless them nobody seems to have a clue.
by the way, 25 fps in europe is it?

so now that's settled, what's going on it?
lots of ass?

sounds like theyve given you the physical measurements of the thing rather than the resolution ;)

Is that huge number akin to camera raw res?

unless the video is being played through a computer, I think you're still bound to SD and HD rez.

just use the HD settings is what ever program you are working on and aspect ratio will take care of the rest, I have done logo loops and short animations for lcd and plasma screens, you do not need to match the exact dimensions of the screen.
