Idiot/n00b email question

I know I could get involved ask some “Comic Book Guy” type on the Apple forums, but since I am sitting right here;
Is there a way I can configure my iPhone’s mail to switch smtp servers dynamically? I mean, if I am at a WI-FI enabled coffee shop or porn cinema and I went to send an email from my work account. It never works.
Am I stupid?

you don't need to alter the smtp server at all. you do need to see how the server needs to authenticate the email and change you're settings.
