Hi
I am thinking of picking up a refurbished Epson Stylus R2400 Photo Printer. Does anybody have any experience with refurbished printers (or with this Epson printer in general)? A friend of mine has one and is happy with it, but he bought his new. Would I be better off paying more money to get a new one, or would a refurbished one work just as well (the one I am looking at comes with a one year warranty). Thanks in advance for your advice....

its a good printer.. as far as refurbished. I dont know. Also watch out when putting anything other than epson media. Hahnemulle paper has a bitch of a time to catch on the spool.

also maybe look into the 2880 set.
anything with the **80 means it contains the vivid magenta.

I recently purchased a refurbished Epson 3800 and am quite happy with it. It came with a new, sealed set of ink, manual, driver cd, registration card, and power cord. Everything was clean and in working order. It prints beautifully and I have no problems after approximately 1 month of use.

I've got the r2400 and think it's a-ok.
As for refurbished - I don't know. My once concern would be the printhead - if that's new, and you've a year warranty overall, I guess I'd consider it. I guess it depends on how much you'd be likely to save - I mean, the printer itself new is only worth as much as a handful of full ink refills anyway, so if you're that strapped you're likely to encounter problems in the not too distant future anyway.
