Has anyone tried teespring or amazon merchant in selling t shirt designs?
- utopian0
Does anyone here sell their merchandise on any of these sites?

Utopian & PinkFloyd,
I use Threadless to sell t-shirts, prints etc.
I've also used Spreadshirt for my own personal stuff I want printed up as they are Europe based too and their tees are higher quality than threadless I've found. They do more clothing and bags printed on but Threadless does prints and cushions etc too.
- How is the pricing structure? Example: how much money do get from Threadless for each shirt that they sell?utopian
- Base prices for a T-Shirt is $15 Sweat is $24. You can charge whatever you want and pocket the profit above those prices.microkorg
- Folk are happy to pay $25 for a tee and $39 for a sweat. Giving you $10 or $15 profit respectively.microkorg
- Print on demand is a great service and 100% no risk as you are not having to get stock made before selling :)
Been there in the past ...microkorg - ... when shit doesnt sell and you're left with a load of tees to get rid of.microkorg
- Threadless deal with all the payment and sending side. You have a dashboard where you can keep track of sales. They hold money for 2 weeks then pay into paypal.microkorg
- .. and they obviously deal with any returns. but any shit like that is going to be on their hands due to faulty goods or print etc. so you're always gonna get £microkorg
- thanks!utopian

I tried society6 and didn't get a single sale. I'm guess it's because someone has to click through thousands of pages to finally get to my shirts. How are you marketing or promoting your work microkorg?
- Just on Instagram and occasionally I do a Facebook advert. Found that if i spend maybe £20 on ad I'll maybe get a little more back with sales.microkorg
- Its music based stuff so will occasionally post onto forums when i've got new designs. Keep meaning to submit stuff to blogs like DesignBoom to get a feature.microkorg
- It's just a hobby really. Most of the tees I designed cos i wanted something like it. then thought id offer to the world for sale too ;)microkorg
- .. just got an email from Threadless saying they want to feature some of my designs in one of their upcoming blog posts. Whoop!microkorg

Quick t-shirt question...and hopefully this thread is ok to ask it since I can't find the search function anymore.
I see tons of tees out there featuring movies, sports teams, celebrities, etc which clearly are unlicensed. Are these t-shirt makers just hoping they don't get caught/sued or is there some sort of loophole allowing them to make and sell tees without actually being licensed to do so?
Side question: how do you do a search on QBN these days? :)
- search is under the hamburger menu in the top right. if said logos and other pieces are done in a parody, then it's probably safe against lawsuit.lvl_13
- Search is through Google:
"site: qbn.com SEARCH TERM"detritus - In short: illegally. Afaik, first stage is a cease and desist, so unless you made gajillions you don't generally get instasued.detritus
- Most people in the prints/posters business who do this just fly under the radar, hoping for the best.detritus
- Gotcha! That's kind of what I assumed, both about cease and desist and flying under the radar. ThanksMondoMorphic
- step1: be chinese
step 2: bootleg the fuck out of everything
