Hi all,
Anyone know how to resize a rounded corner shape in illy and retain the size of the rounded corner, other than to manually resize each anchor point using the direct select tool?
Thanks

Just draw a new box at the right size then specify the same radius corners as your current box. You can't scale the proportions of the box without sclaing the radius of the corners.
Or, you could draw a new box at the right size with hard corners, convert it into a guide, then drag half of your box to lock onto the guides, the other half to do the same. If you locked the top left corner of the box to the guide box you would just need to drag the right hand side and the bottom into place.

Use the Direct Selection tool to select all points at the bottom and change the height, do the same thing with the points on the right to change the width
- Oh, you said that part. My new rule is to read a full question before posting.kalkal
- I think you said it better though, I struggle to use small amounts of words.Horp
- Don't use words too big for the subject. Don't say 'infinitely' when you mean 'very'; otherwise you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite.
C. S. Lewiskalkal - left when you want to talk about something really infinite.

- Hahahah, For a while I was thinking "I never used 'infinite', wtf?"Horp

I often find that I draw a box and then go back and resize it.
I know the transform >> scale tool resizes and maintains the corner size, but its hard to know exact amounts of scale sometimes.
- it does NOT maintain the corner radius when you transformmonospaced

I'd just use the anchor select, I must admit. 2 axis shunts and you're done, it[s no biggie, really.
If I found that I needed to do it regularly, I'd probably start using the cornered rectangle tool from the tool palette, instead of using filters or whatever on a squared-corner rectangle.

custom brush applied as effect?

ah. my bad - I just checked - the rounded rectangle scales the corner width too, doesn't it? Sorry about that.
In that - case start using the 'effects\stylize\round corners' effect.
- good idea.iamjustoneman
- yup.....round the corners thru effects and it doesn't scalelinearch

Edit>Path>Offset Path
or something like that, I don't feel like launching AI to tell you exactly but I'm pretty sure that will do it.
