His process is pretty much what you are taught in design school, exactly that with those exact words. It's not bad, but I think as a designer you mature and your process evolves.

Ahhh, man. You can't go ripping on this guy. He's doing a good deed for the design community. This'll be burned into the Google and he'll probably lose potential clients since he's a freelancer, which means he can't feed his children, so then he decides to creates even more $5 logo sites, which in turn, makes it even worse.
It's a "beginner" tutorial and at least the guy spent some of his time to write something up to help noobie designers understand the process a lil' better. Probably meant for folks who didn't go to school for this specific thing but want to get started in it.
