Im planning to separate the graphics (photoshop) and vectors (illustrator) and set up in Indesign...
the old designer used almost 1gb files for those packagings all in photoshop

it's silly to do it in ps.
illy or indesign with the help of linked files from ps or illy is the way to go.

If you have a lot of text to go on the packaging, you could typeset in InDesign then once it's done export into the Illustrator file.
- text should def dictate what program you should use. Text heavy packaging would be better in indesign.VectorMasked
- Agreed, if you need ID's type-handling. For general packaging and ingredients lists etc, Illy is fine.pylon

guess that should do it.
or preflight+packaging... send them the source files with fonts and all.
Text looks cleaner and sharper when is still uncompressed and when text has not been converted to outlines.I myself finished like 9 boxes with tubes and 10 bottles and sent the indesign files.
