Aye, you cast it in an epoxy resin. Someone Britside was asking about this not too long ago, let me see if I can find it.

that's rad, thanks! i am trying to achieve a similar effect to what my pic had where the thing casted is suspended in the middle, how do you think that is accomplished?

most likely the mold was lying flat then half the resin was added and allowed to half set. Objects can then be placed quite easily and the 2nd half of the resin is poured over and left to set.

you can buy the resin powder from ebay I think..

You will get air bubbles so when you mix it and pour, be very careful.
Mold needs to be heat resistant since there is a lot of heat generated when you mix the activator.
Be at a well ventilated place (it really stinks for few days).
For floating, pour a layer first and let it cool down a bit, place the object, and pour second time. The key is not use any item that will melt on heat.
There are cool resin method but you will get more air bubbles.
