Are you Johnny Greenwood?

Tough choice actually; they're both great amps and both sound completely different.
Where are you planning on playing? At home? Live shows with a band? If at home what kind of volume can you handle?
I think I would lean towards the Vox; I almost thought about getting one recently but instead got a Hot Rod Deluxe to play in stereo live alongside a Crate Vintage Club 30 reissue (which, btw, if you can find used, you'll get for cheaper than an AC30 and they are practically the same thing: same wiring, same tube arrangement, etc from what a guitar tech told me.
My live setup has evolved a bit, but the current setup with the crate and deluxe has sounded great. I run the gain channel on the crate, and the clean on the deluxe, lots of reverb on both. I'm loving it. We've got a show this Thursday and I can't wait to use this setup instead of my regular Fender Pro 185 and the Crate in stereo.

http://www.fargenamps.com/ampbla… (Ben is a great guy, maybe out of your price range but his AC30 clone sounds fantastic too)
http://www.carramps.com/products… (just found these, the Mercury clip sounded alright)Get that thing in a gig bag and take it to some local boutiques; they should let you try out any of their amps with your own guitar so you can see how they sound. Though I probably wouldn't get either a new Vox or Fender, I do love both of those amps– just for very different things.

Depends on your sound and music taste.
That being said I'd incline towards the Vox. It's sound is meant to arouse women. Sweet, sweet sounds.
The twin reverb is a little more versatile.

what are you using it for? the fender twin is amazing but it only sounds good if you can turn up LOUD -- the thing is small-medium sized venues (200ppl or so) can only really handle it turned up to 1 or 2. also it is a heavy mofo

First the Martin - now this?
"joseprieto" - single handedly fighting recession since 2009.

Actually, I'd get an AC15. AC30 and Twins are just too much bother to move around.

It really depends on what you're going for, isn't it? I mean a Vox is a great choice, more versatile than the Fender IMHO, but although I'm a metal guy I have lots of love for the twin 'verb's sound characteristics (especially if you're teaming it with a vintage tele), although probably far more limited than the vox. What matches what you're trying to do and your playing style?
And always, it's more you than your equipment.

I had a twin and have always coveted the vox. Both need to be LOUD to show their stuff though plugging your whole band in with you on the Vox has possibilities.

Had a dream last night that I told you to "go cheap and spend the rest on a ceramic lion statue." so weird.

Vox has issues. A few years ago they started making stuff in Asia I think. So it is a little cheaper(more poorly made) than it used to be. The models before that (pre-2004 I think) had some wiring issues. Friend of mine blew up 3 in a row. The do sound really nice though.
My vote goes 100% in the Fender column. Cannot beat the Fender.

The Twin is a little more versatile, but I love the sound of the 30. I agree boobs (most all of the time...hah!), in a smaller venue they can be total over kill. I have a Fender Cyber Deluxe and have been so happy with it.

I think Im gonna go with the AC30
by the way... do you guys know about this website?
americanmusical.com
it lets you do 5 easy payments with no interest
so they take the 5 payments each month from your account
I think its a good deal

both?

fender, absolutely. those twin reverbs are nice - when you crank them you can get some "distortion" if you want that. and they have the greatest reverb sound.

- those look nicejoseprieto
- great overdrive pedals that give you nice saturation. They aren't distortion pedals.morilla
