  Audacity isn't bad at all. Covers all the basic editing and has quite good advenced features.

  note that with audacity, it will un-encode the mp3 to edit it and re-encode it back to mp3, so you will lose quality.

  • most, yes. there are mp3 trim utilities that will trim without unencodingacescence
