the guy showed up with the completed hack, it's not like he sat down and wrote it off the top of his head in 10 seconds...
- scarabin_net0
of course it took him weeks to write the code and 10 seconds to push the button
- monospaced0
Took him 10 seconds longer than it took to crack the PC.

Whilst I feel the spirit your cause, your counterarguments are somewhat retarded. Any hack requires research, which equates to time spent. PCs aren't 'instantly hackable' - hacks and viruses rely on the cumulation of thousands upon thousands of man hours of effort, over decades, a product of the Windows user base being so widespread and (in Darwinian terms, at least) the most successful.
With an inflating userbase, you macniks face the same shitstorm over the next few years as the PC has previously - it's the consequence of success.
The problem you guys have got is that Apple Kultur'sd smug hubris has conditioned your userbase into a state of largely flaccid helplessness, for which it may pay dearly.

- you sound bitter that you don't have a Mac, or somethingmonospaced
- If I'm bitter, it's because I seem to deal with a lot of macniks who don't know how to use their own computers.Nairn
- I'm old skool, pre-PC - past fanboyism. I've said many times I'd like a mac. I just use PCs, is all. No need to change.Nairn
- Besides - read through that again, there's not a single anti-mac thing, 'cept the 'Kultur' reference.Nairn
- "smug hubris",,,,
Extended, rousing post-operatic applause. You sir, are owed one stiff drink.mikotondria3 - That's to do with childish fanboys - not the pretty, underlying tech.Nairn
- you took it personal?Point5

its just a computer, either way. it is the programs that do the work and the people who use the programs.
macs can get cracked, just like pcs
- if ur so neutral, then why did u post?inkpink
- i thought people would be interested in reading, that's alltwokids
- yeah, well... fuck yaipissexcellence

well the reality is that most exploits require your interaction in some form. windows screwed up with UAC, most people "solve" their UAC problems by disabling it. mac users have a slightly smoother interaction with the OS when it comes to escalating privledges. all that aside, people still can't figure out to just not run their god damn browser as an administrator.
- How do you not do that thenroundabout
- i use this on XP http://cybercoyote.o…acescence

short interview with the man who cracked the mac last two years on why it's the easiest platform to compromise...
