- Nice. Incredibly impractical, but cool!formed
- not impractical at all, visit the link. Look at the schematics and plans.utopian
- Just because you have plans doesn't mean anything. The space is so tiny, and the cost to produce it, you could have twice the size w/o the funky shape.formed
- Cantilevering out of the ground like this isn't cheap, either. Then there's power, waste, ventilation, heat/cool, etc., etc. Cool for a rich kid's playground.formed
- In school it's fun to design things sans budgets, and don't get me wrong, it looks like a great project, but reality vs. school is a huge difference.formed
- The text is a nightmare. Also, for something that is designed to be environmental the windows are facing away from the sun.face_melter
- A friend of mine who does daylight calculations would bin this almost immediately and yeah - no mention of power or heating or water.face_melter
- Where is the door?slappy

- love the exterior. interior is boringFax_Benson
- agree with Faxutopian
- It does have a few nice details on the inside, love the bw entrance. A darker floor would have gone a long way to making the interior have more depth.formed

- It's crazy how many times this gets redone. I think I saw this first about 20+ years ago, still impractical.formed
- Shipping containers carry all the weight at the ends, so they need extensive reinforcement if you stagger them, b/c weight is on the unsupported middle.i_monk
- Is there a surplus of shipping containers in the world? The ones that work are being used, the ones that don't are probably not suitable for housing.lnu
- They're relatively cheap to make.i_monk
- but very costly to turn into something viable (toxins, adding materials, etc.). Cheaper to build from scratch. It's "cool", but little practical about it.formed
- You could, however, create a module, prefabricate and save money if you made enough of them.formed
- Problem is, real estate is rarely exactly the same, not to mention transport/materials... variations/costs and you end up with formulas for economyformed

- I want to like it but it's not happeningFax_Benson
- Exterior is cool, interior is too much like The Office with jaunty angles.MrT
