Собор Солсбери, официально известный как соборная церковь Пресвятой Девы Марии, является англиканским собором в Солсбери, Англия, и одним из ведущих примеров раннеанглийской архитектуры. [2] Основной корпус собора был завершен всего лишь 38 лет, с 1220 по 1258 год.
С 1549 года в соборе был самый высокий церковный шпиль в Соединенном Королевстве, на высоте 404 фута (123 м). Посетители могут посетить «Tower Tour», где можно осмотреть внутреннюю часть пустотелого шпиля с его древними деревянными лесами. Собор также имеет самую большую обитель и самый большой собор, расположенный в Великобритании на высоте 80 гектаров (32 га). [2] Он содержит часы, которые являются одними из старейших рабочих часов в мире, и имеет лучшее из четырех оригинальных копий Magna Carta.
