Surely a staffing agency is not your boss, nor your employer, YOU pay THEM for the work they do and not the other way around right? The money is coming out of your paycheck to them as commission for getting you the gig in the first place. Or do I have it wrong?
By the way, Im tired and cranky.

i called both agencies and got everything out in the open. luckily the two persons knew each other well and everything was cool. i still work with both of the agencies today and now i always make it a point to be upfront about what i'm working on and where i'm at so both can keep track. it wasn't that big of a deal at all.
- cool glad it worked out. worrying about shit nearly always worse than ...Shaney

I hate staffing agencies. Although, they did get me work before. I just don't like dealing with them.

But, if sigg wasn't a scared designer, he wouldn't have started this thread. Ergo, he's now in check--soon to be mate!

You actually did nothing wrong. It's timing, and #2 moved you as a resource at the right time. I had this happen to me and my first agency was like "WAAAAAH Fuck you we're not working with you anymore".
Four months later they call again, and I said I'm not interested. Staffing agencies act like they have you by the balls but they never ever do. It's all a bluff to keep the scared little designer in check.

Of all the people to lie to, staffing agencies are the worst people to lie to:
1) They cry and cry about it!
2) They will make things shitty for you with other people to get commission.
3) They hold a grudge.Just stamped "Fucked" on your forehead, and go wander around the bus station!
- Point50
why lie? and fuck em if they can't deal with it. you might have fucked yourself over with them, but oh well. that's life.
- It's one of those things... I dunno why I did it, I guess I didn't feel like dealing with it then.sigg
- I obviously wasn't thinking ahead to the day that they might find out.sigg
- This is why I don't lie to my girlfriends. "Are you screwing someone else?" Yes. Care to join us?sigg

Agency #1 are obviously not as good at selling their positions. Plus, in these times, I would think that three months down the line you could quite possibly be a little more desperate for work
- sigg0
wtf just happened?
- sigg0
If nothing else you guys are cracking me up with the images and comments which is helping me feel better about the situation.
I just don't want to burn any bridges and I really feel bad about lying in the first place. I guess it's just one of life's little lessons... 'DON'T EAT YELLOW SNOW AROUND TALKING ANIMALS"
- sigg0
If nothing else, you guys sure are putting me in a better mood. I'm laughing my ass off over here.

dude, you changed your mind, it happens. i dont see what the big deal is. are you worried that agency1 is gonna be mad at you because they didnt get a commission? fuck that shit. quit treating yourself like a prostitute.

just tell the agency#1 how it is, can't be so bad. if they're dicks and will want to issue legal steps, call agency#2 to back you up. that's it.
