any knowledgeable people here that know if it is good/bad or doesn't matter if someone, say my fiancee, who has a platinum engagement ring, but wants to get a wedding band that only comes in 14k white gold...

does it matter at all for the care of both rings? will one affect the other? i have read so many different opinions online, that I'd like to see if anyone here has any experience or info.

    thanks

    Get platinum, or silver

White gold is shit - especially in 14k form.

From some website: "The commonest metal which causes a significant bleaching effect in gold is nickel, which has the great advantage of being inexpensive, and also providing, in 18 carat alloys, a good colour match for platinum, however its colour matching in 14 and 9 carat alloys is poor. It also has the serious defect that it commonly causes dermatitis, through allergic reactions when worn in contact with the skin. It is also considered to be slightly carcinogenic."

    Lovely

I think you and your future wife should love each other. the rest is just silly formality.
