Anyone know of the best way to store prints and portfolio work?
It needs to fit sizes up to 25x35 (or vice-versa).
I was thinking that Mylar could be a temporary solution. I have most of the pieces in tubes right now, but I'm not sure if it's healthy in the long run.

I'm open to suggestions about cases (aluminum, etc.), flat files, sleeves, etc. Thanks.

Check schools that are closing. They may have those giant metal drawers.

Thanks. Yeah, definitely pricey. Plus, I may need something more portable.

flat is best.
drawers if your not going anywhere, or get an inexpensive portfolio case with mylar sleeves.

I've been looking for exactly that. An inexpensive portfolio case with mylar sleeves. Unfortunately, not many places have the larger sizes. Any suggestions? I will be checking out a few local stores eventually.

maybe try drafting supply shops. most art/design supply stores probably stock common sizes for their students and artists, who usually want sleeveless at larger sizes.

i recently scored a 36" x 48" 5 drawer metal flat file for $60 at a government auction. not very portable though.

I used to store my posters in these before I got a Safco flat file.

not sure how big the collection is but if it exceeds a case, perhaps getting additional pockets and making a simple folder out of coroplast [http://www.coroplast.com/produc... to store the additional pieces would work and give you easy access to interchange pieces in the case.

put 'em all in a big portfolio bag and shove 'em in the back of your closet
that's what i do
- Currently I do have them shoved back there. In tubes though.juhls

I only need about 15-20 sections/slots.

I'll try the Wallack's near my house.
I may just go with the acid-free archival sleeves (with a hard backing) for now, until I have a better place to put the artwork. The larger sizes are expensive. I need to order them in bulk or something.

Flat. In a large, archival print box.

I thought you said pints, in which case my answer was "your stomach"

If you don't really have any space for the one I sent you any more Jaline I'd be happy to get that back. I'm working over the top of a lot of those very early drawings I was doing, and turning them into other things. Its doubtful its going to fit into your archive system when you get it, and its not exactly a great piece of work, so let me know. I'd rather get it back than let it get binned, discarded or forgotten about. I'll pay for the return postage if necessary.
- scrub 'if necessary'... of course I will pay for the return postage.Orbit

Spooky, what is up with you lately? Of course I like it.
- You come off as being very insecure (perhaps it's ironic I say this, I don't know), and maybe it's a joke. Who knows.juhls
- But you keep repeating it, and I if someone keeps saying the same thing over and over again, it's not a joke anymore.juhls
- I love your work. Always have.juhls
- I emailed you.juhls
- Huh?
Repeating what? show me where?Orbit - I mean about buying your prints.juhls
- Jaline, its a fucking joke ffs abut the prints. I have never once, in my entire life, ever had a print for sale...Orbit
- ... so how the fuck can I be seriously bemoaning your failure to buy one. Seriously now think about it. Fucking hell.Orbit
