I'm currently working on a project where I'm planning to use smooth transitions.
It popped in my mind i could either use both timer and the enterframe event for this.I did a bit of research and i found this article:
http://www.flepstudio.org/forum/…And i was wondering if in your experience, for timed operations, which approach you reckon is better and why.

Yeah Greensock is very good for all that sort of stuff... Grant Skinner has joined up with him for the next release.

I would use enterFrame event only if you are animating to a constantly updating point, this can kill tweener etc, otherwise go for gs or tweener

Interesting link thanks.
But i was just wondering which of the 2 methods is better or which are the pros and cons of each one, when you need to constantly update an object, or if is just a matter of taste.

if there will be no timeline animation that coincides with your timer then i would use the timer. however as the timer is separate to your fps then it may fall out of sync on less powerful machines

I'd use enterFrame, just because I've always felt more comfortable with it. And, why create an object when you can use built-in MC methods if the overall result is the same?
I love Greensock, but I'm quite married to Zeh Fernando's Tweener classes.
http://code.google.com/p/tweener…- I too am similarly bonded to this, it has become part of my dna. When I die I will ascend with easeInOutElasticmikotondria3
