Banned on TV because in UK political messages in ads not allowed.
- An existing Greenpeace piece whch Iceland decided to co-brand and broadcast, knowing that such things were illegal, so a high chance of it being banned.Nairn
- Clever, because it's gotten global traction, but has led to a lot of misunderstanding about an important seperation between advertising types on TV here.Nairn
- Iceland is also the first UK supermarket to vow to get rid of single use plastics from own-brand packaging, which is good.Nairn
- I hadn't shopped in there for years (it can be a bit shit) but I pop in once every couple of weeks for their frozen Mexican range. Filthy.Nairn
- As for the ad: well-produced and quite it's effective, but is voiced by Emma Thompson, so largely insufferable beyond a single viewing...Nairn
- Shame it's such a horrible supermarket. I'd like Waitrose or Sainsburys to do the same.Hayzilla
- Try their Mexican range, hayzilla! It's actually pretty damn good.
I now get my frozen veggies from there instead of Fainfburyf - just as good and much cheaper.Nairn - Everything else is still pretty crap though. I hadn't been in there since my university days... .Nairn
