My family are just up the road in the awesomely named village of Beer, it's a lovely part of the country but there isn't a great deal locally.
Might be best focusing on Exeter which isn't too far or even further west to Plymouth. Either way, unless she's lucky applying to small local schools/colleges, there really isn't much in the immediate area.
Good luck, many of the schools and colleges in the area do well in the results tables.

High school or College type instruction?
Kutztown University (Berks County) has a terrific communication design program. Worth a look.
- BTW, you know anyone who is looking to hire a hardworking, talented young designer in the Phila area? :)baseline_shift

Lympstone, Devon...England. Kutztown is in Pennsylvania, US. We're actually 2 hours east in York. She's leaving York to follow her boy in the Lympstone Area.
She's currently teaches High School. Not sure if she'd be able to teach at university. She does have a masters.
- The whole, US thing threw me off. There is a devon, york, and exeter all within an hour of me. Sorry I couldnt help.baseline_shift
