What are the pros/cons of entering their competition? I am thinking about entering but I don't know if it's worth the $70...

do it as a test to see how you like it. then you'll know if you would like to do such things again in the future.

Can you live with not seeing that $70 ever again, should nothing come of it?
If yes, then go for it . You could win magic prizes or gain valuable notice.
If no, then there you go.

even if your work is very good, it's still a lottery. will it break your heart not to win? then don't try. also think if it's worth it. for students wanting to pimp the cv it makes total sense, for freelancers wanting to impress the clients absolutely none.

Yeah, I mean, I don't have any problems dishing out the $70, I just wasn't sure if it was worth it. I think I'm going to submit 2 things then hope for the best?
- Forge ahead, sir! Conquer mighty foes, and bed many maidens!harlequino

Jimbo: Yeah, I guess I am also doing it because it is always nice to see what other people think of you work...

if you speak to your coworkers, or your profs if you're studying, it is a much, much better feedback than recieving a notice "you have won/not won". because every contest is a lottery, every contest is as good as its submissions. what if others submitted crap you you won? is this the value of your work?
- crap *and you won...jimbojones
- You bring up a good point kind sir.seansuth
- on the other hand, think of teh maidens!jimbojones
- You can never go wrong with getting the maidens!!!!seansuth
- ok, I've seen your work, do itjimbojones
- Haha thanks man, I am going to, just thought I would see what other people though.seansuth

I'm doing it for agency recognition. Agencies see my work, they outsource their design projects to me. That's the hope, at any rate.

If you win, competitions are very good, if not, they're not?
- if it's good it's good even if you lose, but that doesn't mean your work isn't good. if it's not good, it's still not good if you winjimbojones

The level of quality tends to be pretty good in CA. Better than HOW, Step, or Print, imho.

If you lose, you can cry by yourself.
If you win, you can share the joy with everyone.
