Hi All,
I'm putting together my first ever site using Dreamweaver and I've found myself stumped when it comes to sizing up this slide show thingy
You can see where I'm at here:
Traction Business Consultancy works
So here's what I've done so far....
Insert....> Media .....> Insert image Viewer.....
I defined the size of the viewer as 800px wide and 250px high - the exact size I want the images to be displayed.
I then used the flash element menu (left hand side) to select 4 imagesURL's (the 4 images rotating in the viewer.
All the images were created in Photoshop (all sized at 800x250px) and all saved as jpgs for the web but when displayed in the viewer there's a border around them for some reason.
I've been through (what I consider) the obvious options, i.e. border on/off, title on/off but can't seem to get anywhere.
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Darren

Do you have any options set in Modify> Page properties (Apple-J) that is putting borders automatically onto anything you add to a page? I had that problem last week... everything had greay borders round it.
- Greay - lovely colour.
High definition grey.Orbit - Just taken a look and I don't think so.
It's almost as if it's set to display at 80% or something.character1

I can't help, but have you tried making the viewer size smaller not to solve it but to see if the border changes with the viewer window or gets cut off. Could be that its the very edge pixel in your Jpegs that is anti-aliased / soft.
Good luck with it anyhow.
- I've tried making the viewer bigger and smaller - it just enlarges or reduces the images in proportion - thanks for the suggestion though.character1

add to the css doc:
img {
border: 0;
}- Sorry for sounding like a tool, but where exactly should I put this?character1
- Somewhere in the head code: After; <style type="text/css">
<!--
and before the end </style> tag. I would consider having an external CSS document tho if I was you...

I've added the above code and nothing's changed.
I aware I might be becoming a pain in the ar** but it's realy doing my nut in!
Am I a total idiot or what?!?!
- RustyBadge0
You have not put the code in properly...
Remember the semi colon and the end "}"
img {
border: 0;
}

Still no dice though?
It was all going so well at the start!!!
- do you mean the 1 pixel border on the sideshow ?BattleAxe
- character10
How can that be though?
Canvas size is 800x250 in the photoshop files and i've imported other images into it with the same thing happening.

^^ They sure are, if you zoom in you can see that the line is part of the image. well done ace.

the line is part of the image - it's supposed to be. It's the 1/4 inch white border around it that I can't figure out.
The slides are intended to to fill the width of the content box - the full 800px.
Instead they seem to be about set at about 80% or something like that.
- The white border is part of your flash file, mate. It's nawt to do with DW and all to do w/ Flash.pylon
- is there any way of amending the flash file then?character1
- With Flash, I'd reckon.pylon
- BattleAxe0
what version of DW are you using, I don't have that option
"Insert....> Media .....> Insert image Viewer..."
is that a extension you downloaded?
seems like it is being re sized in flash ,
- acescence0
yeah, looks like the flash file is originally larger than 800x250 and is being scaled down which in turn is scaling the images down

That sounds like logical explanation - what's my best solution?
Re-do in directly in flash and import?
- Open Flash.
Open the source file.
Figure out what's wrong.
Apple+Returnpylon - Had a look at the source file through dreamweaver and can't see any issues? Do I need to open in flash independently?character1
- Open Flash.

sorted!
Ended up redoing directly in flash and importing into dreamweaver.
No idea what dreamweaver's issue is but glad I've got it sorted - was cracking up a bit there!!
