I love it, although the 5th episode was shit.

shit we're like 6 episodes into it and not much has happened...i was a bit afraid due to the fact that there was many years and his films were evolving...didn't know will he make the thing "Rabbit/Inland Empire" style or a bit more conventional...now i know...
his style of filmmaking in Elephant man and original Twin Peaks is dare i say way different than later stuff - Mulholland Drive > Lost Highway > Inland Empire...
What i liked about the original was the great detective / small town / trippy experience series with great add on elements all around. You had the crazy sequences in the lodge, when there was a lot of justification for it due to paranormall things...now it's kinda everywhere...i don't know - we're half way through the series and not a lot of things really sorted...sequences with Dougie being lost are just destroying the series for me...they take way too long and they don't yet lead to anything...
i do enjoy the vibe and the journey, but i think if there was no legacy of the old series and the pure nostalghia - i would probably stopped it...
of course it's my opinion based on first 6 eps...i might be completely wrong when i reassess after all is done...
- Yeah I agree. The premiere episode gave me both twin peaks and mulholland drive vibes, but it's veered into something very different.SteveJobs
- Cooper was arguably the central point of the original series so with his long absence it's hard to not get impatient awaiting his return.SteveJobs
- If you don't have patience, don't bother with anything by Lynch. I think we the plot made a lot of progress in episode 6.CyBrainX
- ^ I meant episode 7. I lost track there.CyBrainX
- i didn't say i don't have the patience...i said i enjoy the journey but i pointed some things i thought were flawed imho...loool
- episodes 6 & 7 are very important. ;) bar sweeping scene was pure lynch. i think we're just starting to get the plot. my 2 cents.renderedred

I'm sorry but this show is absolutely pointless.
this scene is excruciating.- The soundtrack is the only thing I've enjoyed so far and her of course http://i.imgur.com/F…Ramanisky2

Dat episode, maaaan...

What the fuck was that episode. Very close to a higher budget Eraserhead.

Episode 8 was an incredible hour of TV.
While I was watching it I felt like I didn't have a clue what was happening due to the general disorientating nature of what was on screen; but after the credits rolled it felt surprisingly coherent. I'm not saying I can tell you what everything that happened means or why it happened, but it felt like there'll be plenty in there that's going to be important moving forward.
From the gun shot fired at Evil Cooper to the end was just amazing.

We have to wait two weeks for episode 9 but I think the 3 or 4 times I need to watch 8 again will tide me over more than enough.

Incredible. Think I got it all in a viewing. So so much bravery when into making that episode. I think that episode alone was the bravest film making TV has ever witnessed/experienced. It said almost nothing at all but said everything.
That crew led by Lynch are incredible and I hope they will always make quality like this. Shit the world needs stuff like this

In my view episode 8 is one big homage to Kubrick. The whole atomic explosion sequence including the music from Penderecki (one of Kubrik's fav composers, his work is prominent in Shining) was a Dr. Strangelove / Space Odyssey 2001 play on bending time and space with a "birth" of good and evil theme, and our role as humanity in all that. Fantastic. Way beyond film,TV and video art.

I just started today...just watched the first episode.
I thought Agent Cooper was Michael Madsen...LOL!A bit slow in the beginning but I was missing that, got too used to other stuff.
A bit of predictable that with the box.

- think thats the best drone footage every used.mugwart
- Yeah, that footage is great but I've always hated Badalmenti. Why does everyone give this particular 80s synth pablum a free pass?CyBrainX
- ^ this is the first time I've taken offence to anything ;-)
How can you not like Badalmenti... I thought that was the only thing on earth anyone can agree upon.mugwart - yup! the first two notes and you know exactly where you are :)renderedred

Nothing really more to say other than so fucking good. Loving the honesty in this and the characters, David's and Mark's commentary on how the world has changed in 25 years (zombie kid and obese mother) and their love of all things occult and weird.
Fucking love it. For me its perfect
