Generally one chooses a face that reflects their work, or personality. Since you seem like quite an asshole, I would chose a blackletter.

sauce to answer your original question, yes of course the type on your business card should correlate to that which is used on your letterhead/resume. Don't think of them as different pieces, you're creating an identity for yourself. As a designer, your stationery is almost as important as your "identity" (read: wordmark in most cases).

BTW I recently switched to using National for text in all my stuff. Loving it. Still using Mercury Display for headlines/larger type. The two faces actually play really well together.
