can you take it into illustrator and beefen™ it up?
- alicetheblue0

What gentleman said. Go up one weight and see what that does for you. I have the same problem with Mercury. Must be an H&FJ peccadillo.
- janne760
also because the @ is a shitty symbol compared to most other letters. too much going on in too little space.
so when used small, you get issues. when used large it might get to prominent when amongst other letters.

yeah janne
the "a"looks a big blob when i go up one size
and the swirl around looks too thin.*starts to cry
- Scotch_Roman0
What weight did you start with?
- alicetheblue0
started with book
but I am almost there creating a heavier swash in Illy :)
- alicetheblue0
taking way longer than I thought ... need beer ... work later
thanks all!!!- argh still looks like shite _ now rethinking fontalicetheblue

show us it

stroke it and move on.
- alicetheblue0
if you knew the font
– stroke it –
is NOT an option

i would trust tobias frere-jones and leave it be.

Create outlines & try different size offset paths.
Much more control than a stroke

give Bryant Medium/Regular a shot - its kind of "quirkier" than the Gotham "@" but may work for you
- 7point340
i think you're all thinking way too hard about this
- alicetheblue0
its too wispy and will not hold a dot - end of story :(
