'two-way' internet at last?

So, some of you might remember me ranting on about the fundamental difference between our internet browsers and those originally developed by Tim Berners-Lee, in that his were fundamentally two way, allowing for interactive creation and development of content much like wikis. Today's internet browsers, on the other hand, are essentially viewers, taking code and rendering it at home. Essentially, anyway.
To get to the point..
Opera, a browser I've never bothered with, looks set to change all this as the new version (10) includes 'Opera Unite', a 'built in web server'.
What does this mean for tomorrow's social networks, I wonder?

Interesting.

It does look like an interesting idea, I've never really bothered with Opera either but I'm going to give this a test drive and see.

What the fuck's the logic behind the way the Public Voice navigation cuts the headline link? There's at least another 5 characters available up there - why could it not at least display "'two-way' internet"?
nngh.

This is going to make music-sharing a cinch.

I hate people who use Opera, they are smart enough to use something other than IE but so fucking stupid they don't use FF or Safari
STOP BEING AWKWARD CUNTS
- did you even read this thread?baseline_shift
- opera is good fiesta - I think the main problem is the fact you can't develop + use firebug using itlukus_W

This is pretty cool:
You can work collaboratively with others on files such as data and images (think wikis or drawing applications), and then work with those files offline if you wish, before sharing them again at a later date
Kinda screws over services like Dropbox if it ever takes off.
- I think they might be thinking about trying to compete with google wavelukus_W
- thats what immediately springs to mind.mikotondria3

Has anybody else DL'd the beta? I'm just going through it now, they've put some effort into this, as in it doesn't totally suck like the flock browser.

Never looked into this nor how it works - but if I remember correctly there's a plug-in for FF that allows it to work like a web-server.

The web server part is attractive, allot like me and my pretty face. I feel fantastic.
