This thread is just a reminder to not attempt to join in any serious topics on QBN. My bad. I forgot where I was.

What bothers me about babies is that the wife will gain weight and no more "perfect fit"
- "daddy stitch"visionary
- That is disgusting! OMGkgvs72
- My wife had our son in October. She's abnormal in this I know, but so far no stretch marks and no weight leftovers.Scotch_Roman
- In fact, she lost too much weight after birth as her body was dumping hormones left and right. She actually had to work to gain back to a healthy weight.Scotch_Roman

Marriage is really hard work. But I must say that it's far more rewarding than serial dating, or even mere long-term cohabitation. When you make public vows to someone, it introduces a certain holiness into the equation, a covenant that is truly a two-edged sword—regardless of one's religious persuasion.
Regarding sex, everyone has a choice to have great sex, bad sex, or no sex. If two people work at it, over time it's mind-bogglingly better than hooking up with random people. But like everything else in marriage it takes work, and sadly more and more people are unwilling to put in the effort.
I think one of the most profound gifts I can give my son is the peace and security of a home with happily married parents.

the sad truth is that more than 50% of marriages follow this path:
1)get fat
2)stop having sex
3)fight about money
4)hate each other
5)get divorced

marriage is ridiculous. it's a contract that makes legal action happen after it fails. being "committed" to someone does not require church or state to remind you of that commitment; that's entirely up to the person committing.

I've been married for 4 years now.
Some days are good.
Some days are bad.
Then you have kids and your lives change forever.
I've friends who are married and others who live together with their children.
Marriage is a promise, a relationship on terms, a contract of sorts.
The most important thing is to stick to it and believe in it and work hard at it.
