don't show my password to people that may be looking.

"but it does cost you business due to login failures"
I wish I could be paid to make such brilliant observations.

once we're chipped all this will be irrelevant

Why does this guy still deserve so much attention?
- airey0
fuck this guy. seriously, for all his bullshit look at his site. yes content matters. yes, how that content is communicated also matters. the web is just another avenue of communication yet his philosophies are so far up his own arse it's phenomenal. imagine if magazines took his philosophy of design, you'd have edge to egde, single column, arial bold headers (18pt) and arial text (13pt), all black text on white pages. leave out the images, they don't convey enough information to be worthwhile unless you print them in braille. fucking over-hyped, under-delivering chump.

if i have to hear from one more middle management douche that's finished an MBA that told them this guy is all that matters i'll kill someone. seriously, it's as if he's given credence to all the visually challenged out there that design in and of itself doesn't matter. which is crap. it may be shallow but these days you do judge a book buy it's cover, and it's content. if you can't do a good job of both then get someone who can. thanks to neilson and ambiguous self-serving 'market research' some visual illiterates are trying to run the zoo.

hi site is so badly designed it does not communicate at all, it's a big mess, not scannable, not legible, not searchable and butt fucking ugly.
He does have some good points, having designers care for usability as well. The questions and problems he states are good, the solutions are not - he is not a designer / typographer.
Besides, style branding and user experiences are also communicaton. WIthout the multimedia experience as the web is now, it would have never been popular. All websites looking like Jakob nielsens...depressing.

I think most people get as much web advice from this dude as they do fashion tips. He's been around for a long time and he will continue to be around for a long time. The thing is he gets more redundant with every year.
- Maybe he could port his usability knowledge into the fashion industry? Famous all over again.slappy

His site hurts my sozzled nozzle.

Let's not forget the fact that he's ridiculously bald, and is thus by science predisposed to being eligible for ignoring in most matters of everything.
- imadesigner0
I wonder if he's rich?
- psenso0
is it ironic - that is site is utterly unusable..
and the fact that states "abandon legacy design" when his site seems to have been made with web usability patterns from 1993 ?

he is just voicing his own opinions based on common sense, we all have it, he just shares it.
he didn't mention that the iphone password interaction is a solution to his whining, probably because he doesnt think the iphone is usable.- It's been on mobile phones for years, it's not Apple's idea. I own an iPhone for the record.raf
