As much as I've always hated pro-fake-wrestling as a joke foisted on the rubes, I always thought the guys in general had a solid degree of athleticism. Whether or not that would translate to the MMA ring is another question, which relies on a similar but different skillset and conditioning. There's no way to know if those fake wrestler guys have the conditioning to deal with extended jujitsu grappling, or if they have glass jaws or not, or if they can really throw a powerful strike, etc. But the overall agility and strength conditioning is there for sure. I'd wager most of the WWE guys couldn't hold their own in MMA, but a few definitely would do very, very well.

Most couldn't becasue they're trained as performers, not actual wrestlers/fighters. It's just during that training [as performers], they get great cardio and strength conditioning... but many wouldn't deal well against a solid MMA/UFC person.
- yeah, what I said, in fewer words.TheBlueOne
- you "wagered", I backed you up!jfletcher

Anyone hear more about GSP? He looked really messed up after the fight. Pulled groin or something.
Also, during the fight there was some strange coaching going on. Constantly telling George to relax and calm down. Looked like he was hyperventilating at one point.
Lesnar/Mir: Mir made some bad mistakes that he admitted to in his dazed state right after the fight. Yes Brock has a large weight advantage but he combines that with his wrestling background to seriously disadvantage his opponents. At one point Mir was handing it to him in the stand-up but Lesnar was able to turn it around again and nullify Mir's skills by remaining in a dominant position on the ground. (which says something considering Mir is an outstanding ground fighter)

the heavyeight class is the weakest weight class in the ufc. theres NOBODY in there....
lesnar got a title fight after what? 2-3 fights?
Cmon... thats a total joke.
do you see anything like that happening in any of the other weight classes in UFC?
Nope.
Mir is pretty good.... lesnar had him outweighed by what? 50+ pounds?
think about the other weight classes, lesnar should be in a super heavyweight class or something..... heavyweight should be up to like 250 or so max.
- mg330
they need a heavyweight class that fighters have to be at a specific weight for, and then a super heavyweight class for anyone above that. Take the average weight of most heavyweights and make that be the target weight.
Brock could drop 25 lbs in his neck alone and still keep his ridiculous torso intact.
- they also need a featherweight class. WEC has all the good 145ersbaseline_shift

@scrap_paper, that's just Greg Jackson's style. GSP wasn't hyperventilating or acting out of the norm, Greg is just very relaxing and makes sure his fighters don't have a massive adrenaline dump and go into the next round depleted. He's a fantastic corner-man, and understands that for fighters, giving them the opportunity to savor the break to regain composure and focus is quite better than violently shouting at them. (see: Alves' corner)

Just saw this last night.
How edifying to see Henderson deck Bisping.
GSP - Fuck, i was looking to find Sambo trainers in London, but now i might just take straight up wrestling
Lesnar - It is quite easy to get away with juicing in sports. Those who get caught are the ones who get careless or unlucky ones. Athletes are on carefully timed cycles using short acting esthers, they're not easy to detect. Not to mention the peptides (such as HGH) that are big in sports - as of you yet they are IMPOSSIBLE to detect.

Not taking anything away from Lesnar. He's a great wrestler with lethal ground and pound.

I am going to be learning submission wrestling at this place in London:
