Anyone hear more about GSP? He looked really messed up after the fight. Pulled groin or something.
Also, during the fight there was some strange coaching going on. Constantly telling George to relax and calm down. Looked like he was hyperventilating at one point.
Lesnar/Mir: Mir made some bad mistakes that he admitted to in his dazed state right after the fight. Yes Brock has a large weight advantage but he combines that with his wrestling background to seriously disadvantage his opponents. At one point Mir was handing it to him in the stand-up but Lesnar was able to turn it around again and nullify Mir's skills by remaining in a dominant position on the ground. (which says something considering Mir is an outstanding ground fighter)

Most couldn't becasue they're trained as performers, not actual wrestlers/fighters. It's just during that training [as performers], they get great cardio and strength conditioning... but many wouldn't deal well against a solid MMA/UFC person.

As much as I've always hated pro-fake-wrestling as a joke foisted on the rubes, I always thought the guys in general had a solid degree of athleticism. Whether or not that would translate to the MMA ring is another question, which relies on a similar but different skillset and conditioning. There's no way to know if those fake wrestler guys have the conditioning to deal with extended jujitsu grappling, or if they have glass jaws or not, or if they can really throw a powerful strike, etc. But the overall agility and strength conditioning is there for sure. I'd wager most of the WWE guys couldn't hold their own in MMA, but a few definitely would do very, very well.

I do have to say, as a fan of professional wreslting, it was sort of funny to see a WWE guy come in and beat the crap out of people... since they get so much crap talked about them. However I still didn't like his behavior that much.

I'd like to see more of Anderson Silva. I saw him for the first time in an older fight last night where he just laid waste to Matt Hughes, or somebody like that.
- Silva is one of my favs. Hes fighting in 101 in a month. He never fought hughes though, to my knowledge.baseline_shift

Excellent UFC!
Henderson VS Bisping
The henderson knockout was RIDICULOUS. Stuff it Bisping.GSP Vs Alvez
GSP dominated Alvez outright, in both the standing and the ground game. GSP *IS* a world-class champion. It will be interesting to see if he bulks up to fight Anderson Silva - like he said at the end of the fight - he's always looking for a challenge.Lesnar VS Mir
Lesnar is just a moose... if Mir could have kept it standing up he might have had a chance. I'm just curious who they could possibly bring in at Lesnar's weight class who will even be able to bounce this guy around? Oh and yes, very unsporting conduct at the end of the match... at least he apologized during the post-fight press conference.

Anyone watching K1 Max?

Sigh. Lesnar is not on the juice, and anyone speculating so is really misinformed about the testing procedures enforced by the athletic commission.
If he was juicing, he'd be caught. Just like Sherk was, just like Stephan Bonner was, just like every other athlete who comes to the UFC to fight. He's just a big massive man. And to say he has no skills is a bit hilarious. The guy is a NCAA champion -- and I'm pretty sure no one on this forum has competed in wrestling at that high a level.
I have no love for this guy as a performer or his ridiculous professional wrestling career -- I'm judging based on his performances. He's in the heavyweight division. This is what you deal with in that division - often extremely large people.
It's not just Lesnar's weight that holds Frank Mir down like a ragdoll. BJJ/Sambo practitioners train to work AGAINST larger opponents, by utilizing hip movements and applying skill to gain and control position, sweep, and escape. The fact is, Lesnar is a huge guy who also happens to be an incredibly gifted wrestler -- and a solid wrestling base is one of the most advantageous skills an MMA fighter can possess.
So anyway, HUGE kudos to GSP for destroying Alves with ease, even with that pulled groin (fucking ouch).
And watching Hendo shut down Bisping put a huge smile on my face. Just a really great night all around.

- he's fighting in the weakest weight class in the ufc.dconstrukt
- baseline_shift0
@ dconstrukt. totally true. Size and shitty attitude aside, why did he get a title shot after 3 fights?! Thats insane. Most guys have to put in 8 or 10
- he got the title fight because it would make a ton of money for the UFC, dana white said that.Sugary

Anyone know where to watch a replay of this in the UK?

great card....
gsp really took it to alvez, he was taking him down at will, and alvez was scared to kick or attack...
glad dan henderson knocked the living fuck out of that shit talker bisbing..... you knew it was coming and then... BAM.
bisbing isn't even in the same class as henderson.... he's got a looooong way to go.
lesnar i doubt is on the juice.... he loos flabby.... look at him during his wwf days, he was ENORMOUS and ripped. you could tell then he was cranking... now i highly doubt it.
haha yeah dude, fedor will DESTROY lesnar..... omg I can't wait for that fight. lesnar just comes off like an asshole.... he's just nasty and arrogant it seems.
plus the dude never deserved to even be in a title fight to begin with. he should have had to fight a few times before...

I went to school with Michael Bisping :)
- Didn't he get schooled by Dan Henderson?BannedKappa

It seems he thinks he's still in WWE, trying to be a bad guy... he seems like a big bully basically. He was somewhat of a jackass in WWE as well. He was champion early on. It's given him a big head to do all that in his 20's.

who won?
- Lesnar according to the newsversion3

I'm just now watching the Lesnar/Mir fight. They said that Lesnar weighed in at 265 and Mir weighed in at 245... no that big of a difference considering it is the heavyweight division... and I'm sure they both packed another 10-15 lbs. on since the weigh-in.

that damn lesnar!!!! he was such an asshole after the fight too
