I ordered it on TV. Why not. Just sitting here getting my girlfriend's new Macbook set up.

Is this very exciting? I think the apartment upstairs is having a UFC party 'cause every couple of minutes a whole bunch of guys are shouting "OOOOHHHH!!! WOOOOAHHH!!"
- rzrffglyr0
I was thinkin of ordering the PPV but it is kind of steep by myself. Just heard of it last night not enough time to get my lazy-ass friends together so we can split costs.

Wow. Damn that knockout was unreal.
- jfletcher0
Most couldn't becasue they're trained as performers, not actual wrestlers/fighters. It's just during that training [as performers], they get great cardio and strength conditioning... but many wouldn't deal well against a solid MMA/UFC person.
- yeah, what I said, in fewer words.TheBlueOne

NFLthere's nothing I hate worse than football fans except UFC fans. I couldn't imagine being amongst them.
With televised sportsI still believe the best seats in the house are in your house.
- Disagree with your first statement. Agree with the second with the exception of baseball, which TV ruins.TheBlueOne

this is what my friends trained in... Russian Systema. Craziest shit ever and would never be allowed in the ring.

fuck lesnar.
I hope they test him, he's juiced for sure.
Brute force, no skills but he keeps winning.Who can stop him? a good kickboxer that can keep him at bay?
Fedor?
anyone?
- mg330
I think the rumors are that Fedor is coming to the UFC, but I'm not sure. I keep seeing stuff on sherdog.com rumoring it. Apparently the crowd tonight was chanting Fedor quite a bit at one point.
While I can't stand Lesnar at all, I do like that it's kind of another Tim Sylvia/big giant oaf dynamic where it's always going to be a smaller guy that has to be better to beat him.
A few fights ago I would not have thought Lesnar worthy of fighting Fedor... now I just want to see Fedor methodically dismantle him.

niko,
Here's a great post I just replied to on sherdog about this:
------
Imagine if a 155 NIck Diaz fought a 205 Griffin. Lesner, going into the fight at around 285 fought Mir, who struggled to put on 245, basically should have retired if he lost again, to a man who gave him 50 pounds. What bothers me about Lesner is that he thinks he is that much better than Mir, NO, you are just bigger. When you lay on them as you did tonight, Mir has no shot at getting up. The Heavyweight are at a big disadvantage. It use to be that the heavyweights were just big, overweight sluggers, therefore the commission just catagorized them all at 207 an up. Nowadays you have guys like Mir, who are a very fit, strong with little body fat. They deserve a heavyweight division that is more restricted. Lesner should be humble and embarrased that he had to fight someone that was 50 lbs smaller than him. Until Lesner fights a guy that weighs in around 265, I will not give him my respect, as I wouldent a 205ér that beats a 155'r. Why does the commision not allow a LW to fight a LHW, but yet allows a 225lbs guy to fight a 265 pound guy,and lord knows it is more like 280 fight time? He has no class, and his after fight attitude showed that he has not been in this sport long enough to respect your opponent after the fight. He is in it to beat up guys and money, not to perfect the sport of mma and appreciate the game.

great post, I was thinking the same thing, in the Olympics they have a super heavyweight division to help level the field.
On paper, Fedor being 6-0, 230 lbs is at a huge disadvantage, can his skill compensate? who knows, he struggled a bit against hong man choi (330lbs), when the korean giant lay on top of him. I'd love to see Fedor destroy Lesnar as well.
- Point50
bottom line is they all get into the ring to make money, right?
and yes, I'd love to see Fedor handle Lesnar

I'd like to see more of Anderson Silva. I saw him for the first time in an older fight last night where he just laid waste to Matt Hughes, or somebody like that.
- Silva is one of my favs. Hes fighting in 101 in a month. He never fought hughes though, to my knowledge.baseline_shift

UFC 101 in Philly this Saturday, anyone from here going?
- dconstrukt0
the heavyeight class is the weakest weight class in the ufc. theres NOBODY in there....
lesnar got a title fight after what? 2-3 fights?
Cmon... thats a total joke.
do you see anything like that happening in any of the other weight classes in UFC?
Nope.
Mir is pretty good.... lesnar had him outweighed by what? 50+ pounds?
think about the other weight classes, lesnar should be in a super heavyweight class or something..... heavyweight should be up to like 250 or so max.
