^ the one in the middle reminds me of these ikea lights:

(we have the blue one ... these photos don't do them justice though as they look much cooler in the dark. and they can be unplugged from the back so that they are portable)

^ Pretty much.
My daughters favourite toy at that age was a series of stackable plastic cups from IKEA that cost 99p.

This is sneezy the activity dragon. Got it for my niece when she was around 6 months and she loved it. Plus is was about the same size as her for a while.

Aren't duplo a bit of a choking hazard?
a pack of lucky strikes and a zippo is what I would have wanted as a kid...

Give him a big bag of Duplo or similar building blocks, our kid is a fiend for them. Fosters hand-eye coordination and imagination and blah blah blah they're just good fun.

yeah, he's walking so thats a good idea with the things he can push... I also remember when my niece and nephew were kids the toys that were the most annoying were the ones they loved to play with...

So this saturday is the 1st birthday of a friend of mines kid, and I'm not sure what i should get him. I've never bought a present for a kid so young, I'm sure something with bright lights/colors, sounds and such (i guess that sums up all toys for kids)... Does anyone have a kid that age? And if so what's their favorite toy?
