My brother is coming to visit next weekend and I'm stuck for ideas for what to do with him...
We enjoy drinking and stuff like that but we will ahve our girlfriends in tow so need to keep a lid on a massive piss up...
You've obviously got the tate, history, science, natural history museums etc... but fancy something a bit different...
Any recommendations?

Personally when I have visitors in tow, I take them to the pubs by hammersmith on the river and work our way down to Kew (there are about 15 lovely pubs and its a 5 mile walk down the river...
If there is nice weather there is no nicer way of spending a day.
Also a picnic on the lawns of Kenwood house followed by a session in Highgate is equally fun....
god im getting old

A wander through Borough Market followed by the wine tasting afternoon at Vinopolis - that's like a disguised piss up.

take them to the Globe Theatre - but if they're from the north east then don't bother :)

I was just in London and had to take someone around and give a good account.
Somethings I did that were cool:
+ On Saturday, Camden Market, Pint at the Lock Tavern and then a walk to Primprose hill.
+ On a Sunday, Columbia Road Flower Market, Breakfast at Premises cafe, walk down Brick Lane, Pint at the Vibe bar and a walk around Spitalfields, Hanbury St, Sunday Best etc.
+ Walk around Nottinghill, down Portobello, meal at Walmer Castle (Ledbury).

Oh, and Soho late at night. Pint at the Endurance.

I took my cousin out just last weekend, Borough market on Saturday to pick up some lunch and eat by the river, then walk over tower bridge, popped into Tower of London to look at suits of armour etc... then walk down to St Pauls... nice walk on a nice day, stopping off for a pint along the way every now and then.

Go to Primrose Hill, get something to eat at Lemonia. Wander all the way down through Marylebone High Street, ending up in St Christophers Place, where you can drink and the girlfriends can go to Selfridges.
Walk off the booze by going to Hyde Park - go to the Serpentine Gallery look at Jeff Koons stuff.
Then go to Notting Hill, but stick to Westbourne Grove to avoid the tourists. Take in a movie at the Electric Cinema, and finish up with more booze in the Electric Brasserie or whatever takes your fancy.

have to say, touristy as it is, if your girlfriends are really into victorian engineering and the steam age in general, you know, pistons and gears and hydraulics and guys with big moustaches and what not? then defo take them to Tower Bridge, its fucking ace.
