I just don't understand why Wireless-N is so un-supported by standard networking companies. Netgear, Belkin, Linksys none of them have a mac usb wireless-n stick in stores right now. It sucks but I had to go out on a limb and purchase a 3rd party networking device from afterthemac.com to set up our studio/home network because I didn't install a wireless card originally in one of the towers. I'll post how that brand works out.
On a side note I got one of those terabyte mac router/airport/server... pretty slick.

You can buy the Mac Pro or Power Mac internal card from resellers for not much more...
- yea but you dont get the wireless-n network speeds. You have to get a usb or buy one of those cards and then learn to install them.Iggyboo
- install them, which from what I hear on towers is actually tricky unlike pcs where you can just slide and switch.Iggyboo
- You can get an N card for Mac Pro (or are you talking about Power Mac pre-N cards?)ribit
- On Power Mac, installation is slide into slot, connect wire, restart.ribit
- Not sure about Mac Pro N card installation tho..ribit

I heard that some PC USB wireless sticks are Mac-compatible, but you need to install drivers. Has anyone had luck with this?

There is a Mac Pro upgrade kit, distributed by Apple only as a service part. Can be bought online. People use it to upgrade their Minis and early Macbooks too as it's the same wifi card in all of them.
I'll look up the part number.
- Are you talking about the Airport Extreme card + antenna? Those have been discontinued.Milan

*Update* I bought the Afterthemac.com n300 and am getting roughly about 3-4mb transfer speeds a second. My cable modem is about 200-300 ft away through like 4 rooms and some solid wood. So this worked out great. plus it came with a ton of extra usb chords so I could place it farther away from the comp. Overall if you need to buy something this worked a lot better than expected.
