Firefox+Georgia Problem

I'm running into a strange issue when using Georgia in Firefox. I'm running Firefox 3.5.1 & 3.0.12 on several Macs and PCs. On the Macs, the Georgia displays in bold even when the font weight is defined as normal. It works fine in IE & Safari on all machines. Has anyone had this issue before? I'm at a complete loss.
Example CSS:
.menu_list {
font-family: Georgia;
font-weight: normal;
font-size: 18px;
float:right;
text-align:right;
width: 200px;
padding-top: 0px;
padding-bottom: 0px;
padding-right: 0px;
padding-left: 0px;
margin:0px;
}

Isn't that just how it looks? I.e. compare it when you use font-weight: bold;
Type will always look different on every browser you look at.
To get a 'lighter' Georgia, use sifr like they do on Poke's site...

Are you sure it's not getting some inheritance?

incase you're not already --- use firebug for firefox, it'll show you how firefox is reading the css.

Try this, just to double check:
.menu_list {
font-family: Georgia;
font-weight: normal !important;
}That will override any inheritances.

Ohh dude I am having that very problem with a site I'm designing too.
Tried all the above apart from the !important one above.

Sorry I stepped away from the issue for a bit. Glad everyone has been chiming in. None of the above helped unfortunately. I still haven't solved the issue.
@dajaniel I know fonts will very from browser to browser and from system to system but this much is out of the norm. As for the sifr suggestion... doesn't this defeat the point of using a web safe font? I mean that's retarted in my opinion. Maybe if I was trying to use Impact or Futura etc, the sure.

I agree with slash, I think that is just how Georgia renders. The bold version is very bold and you'd know it if you saw it.

Have you tried using Firefox in Georgia?

@ SlashPeckha you're right. It really is different so it's a rendering thing. Sorry, I had made a bad assumption.
@Juddly for the win!!!!

think this is just the way the browser render the font

I'm having the same problem, but it just recently started. All of a sudden all instances of Georgia are bold in Firefox. I've never been more anxious to switch to Google Chrome. Have you found a solution?

With the latest version of FF you may need to state the font-weight as it relates to a number; font-weight: 100; for instance?
