"Since Pitchfork has been around for all of the 2000s, we're taking the opportunity to put together a detailed and wide-ranging story-- as told in four lists, four essays, and a timeline of events-- of what happened in music in the last 10 years. About what you'd get from a print magazine, but it's free and you won't throw it out the next time you move."
This is 500-201:

Posting the rest later this week. I think it's somewhat impossible to truly list a top 500, but it's a good way to find new/old/undiscovered music.

Seems like this list could be edited down to 10 albums, maybe 50 tops.
I personally feel like music breaking new ground this decade has been pretty meh.

^In some genres, I agree, not much in the ways of evolution happened. Although, there have been a lot of really great bands making music in the last ten years that stretch multiple genres.

I predict they will throw in some techno and hip hop but the number 1 song will be Radiohead or something.

they came out with a "Pitchfork 500" of all time a few years ago. My mother-in-law bought me the book and downloaded a torrent of it.
It's about 90% awesome, 5% crap, 5% WTF I've never heard of this.
