Most stupid idea ever. If someone did this on a plane I was on I'd beat them senseless before they had a chance to laugh it up.

FUCK YES, what´s the plan then for when he´s knocked out? punching the explosives? or is this you reacting to the bad joke?
either way, always a good thing to have a cool-headed passenger on board. though i wonder if the next good samaritan wouldn´t, by the senseless beating of the laptop guy, be prompted to go berserk on your own ass, with the same motivation, apparently a form of preemptive excessive self-defense concept, lacking any regard for personal physical integrity. the way of the warrior. so basically you couldn´t help it, you´d have to beat all seven flavours of shit out of yourself if you happened to cross your own path. a refreshing take on the categorical imperative, brilliant.
- you're a retard.sublocked
- the shit is obviously FAKE, but it's such poor taste a beatdown is required.sublocked

What macho/beat down airline is everyone flying, in that they're always sitting next to someone who is going to (and able to) thrash and smash them for playing this linked video?

That's a new trend, designers are all good fighters now

Actually, that makes sense. Yesterday I presented poster designs to Brock Lesner for his line of gloves and he emailed me the following:
"Although I am a big fan of Jan Tschichold & the international style, I find your strict use of helvetica, along with left justified type and the utilization of bold, posterized imagery derivative of Otl Aichers' earlier works (pre Munich game identity). Perhaps you could look to the modernistic movement of the futurists of the 20's as a new paradigm.
Hugs in bunches instead of punches,
Brock

so sublocked you could say you're argument is one of anti-violence as one man's terrorist is anothers freedom fighter (if you disagree then who's side in star wars are we on again, as a cheap example). now, you're obviously fairly against this and will take a proud stand. great, that's fine. good even. but how can you be anti this violence and yet offer to simply dish out more violence to prove the point? you get me?

Wow. I definitely didn't mean to offend anyone by posting this and apologize if I did. It really reminds me how diverse this forum is. And while I whole-heartedly believe diversity is a great thing for design/development communities, it teaches you that you need to be extra-cautious of being offensive to different cultures or dispositions.
Other than the diversity here, the one thing I love about QBN is how broad the topics, mindsets, critiques and opinions are. I could post something for feedback and get such a great cross-section of the world -- albeit a creative one. This is wonderful for viral campaign concepting to see how it will impact people of different cultures, or logotype creation where local, arcane brands may infringe on copyrights.
So we're faced with the dilemma of posting and offending, or tempering and attaining a less authentic reaction. I totally respect sublocked's opinion. I daresay most of my relatives would react similarly. Most importantly, I think it's noble that he stepped up and said something. And that most of you, good or bad, were authentic in your replies. While it's easier on anonymous internet sites, it still takes conviction to post contrasting opinions. Or emotional ones. Or heart-felt ones. Or dissentive ones. I know this place is prone to derision. But it's also prone to honesty. And that's what keeps me coming back.
So thanks, everyone.
