Each time when i chose a different format under "Save As"in photoshop it adds "copy" to its name which then i have to manual remove. Anyone how to turn that off?

in your save dialogs, do you have Save a Copy checked?

sorry, pr2 - no answers from me - same problem here - very annoying. »safe copy« checks itself every time. i'd be thankful for a solution, too. while at it: does anyone know how to bind save- and open-locations to the dialogues, so i don't have to navigate all the way to my folder every time? even when working on multiple opened files and saving them, ps forgets where they belong.

in preferences > file handling set it to always append file extensions and it won't do that.

@ pr2 seems obvious but yeah uncheck the"copy" box
@invisiblechamber... drag and drop your save to destination from os x finder, much quicker than navigating through adobe save dialog.

drag and drop - excellent

If you have layers and are saving to a format that doesn't support layers, it will do this. Also, if you have channels it will do this.
