- I'm 41 and listen to Black Flag and Albert Ayler. Probably not Mr. West's or Pitchfork's key demographic.face_melter

I have to admit I just started to listen for the first time seriously his music; I've listen Pablo 5 or 6 time and Yeezus 3 or 4 time since monday. I have to admit I like those albums, i enjoy listening to them except some tracks and some auto-tune and many super stupid lyrics.
But I also have to admit the guy is very annoying and even stupid sometimes. I kinda hate the person but enjoy those 2 albums.
He's playing a role and he's pushing it waaayy way too far. I think he would have as much success if he was playing it more like a normal person/artist and stop auto-proclaming himself a god and a genius. Genius dont auto-proclame themselves genius and only time can make you a music legend.
- yeah he is playing a role like madonna, but it's hard to look like a genius when you are that inept, and don't have ttits.
"super stupid lyrics" is the key :)sted - he has basically been on auto-pilot since his 2nd lp, it's boring and pushes no boundaries imo, he hasn't even bothered to step up his emceeingprophetone

"Audio leaks of Kanye West’s backstage SNL meltdown"
"He calls Taylor Swift a "fake ass," and says he's "50 percent more influential than any human, dead or alive" "

He have a problem. I think he's in a downward spiral.
- remember a close friend of Kanye said Kanye needs psychological help earlier this week... I think he's right.Bennn

The man is clearly having some kind of breakdown (and possibly had long term mental problems). Sad for anyone regardless of past behaviour (especially as a lot of that behaviour is probably symptomatic of the breakdown).
Yes he has a big ego... But he is one of the biggest rappers in the world - isn't that part and parcel lol.
When close friends and collaborators are walking away saying he needs help he probably does deserve some sympathy.
You only have to look at his Twitter feed to see something is wrong.
People are too quick to judge.

i'm not a hiphop expert at all. Is there any real hiphop connaisseurs in here? Is Kanye's music THAT great?
- Sorry you mentioned Kanye and hiphop in the same sentence ???!!!Dillinger
- he made some decent beats (himself), I don't like his flow but people doWeyland
- He made some nice stuff for sure.ApeRobot
- nothing God-like? lolBennn
- He's not a genius. He's a massive twat. But theres no way you can deny he's the best rapper/producer for the last 10 years.HAYZ1LLLA
- but his flow, for what i know about flow lol, seems to be very normal, not much. many rappers have a way better flow than him, no?Bennn
- @HAYZ1LLLA What about Dilla?ApeRobot
- Flow and/or making beats isn't everything. Content matters most. Being the painter with the best brush skills doesn't make you the best artist.nb
- My opinion is that Kanye has some brilliant records and some terrible records.nb
- His banger-to-garbage ration is about 2/10. His flow and lyrics are childish but some of his sample choices are inspired.face_melter
- *ratioface_melter
- I'd say more like 1/5.nb
- so why is Pitchfork giving him 9+ stars critics and every blogs calls him 'genius' ? They're all brainwashed by Kanye?Bennn
- It grates people to acknowledge someone successful and talented who is a dick. He's basically three times more talented than Jay Z. Hard pill to swallow I know.HAYZ1LLLA
- he's amazing to everyone now because everyone seems to have forgotten the 80/90s - a time when he woulda been eaten alive by mc/producersprophetone
- Jay Electronica will save us all.face_melter
- why do you care? he is what he is - let him get on with it - makes v.difference to anything over here.fadein11
- what hayzilla said... probably. Except hip hop isn't always about talent - more about getting the 'elements' right - which Jay Z does consistently.fadein11

I don't give a shit if he did or did not rhyme stuff about bitches and hoes, I mean, some decent beats.. This guy is an absolute disaster. No talent, big ego, monkey motherfucker.
- worth the watch.imbecile
- Monkey?********
- ^ yeah you know, this
https://www.youtube.…Maaku - ooooookay********
- Yeah, monkey. Like in the fucking jungle, in the fucking trees, eating fucking bananas.maquito
- So racism here then... by the way i could name EVEN more white artists who ego are bigger, but everyone focuses on the black that has an opinion. Funny that.necromation
- Racism? Who the hell cares he is black?maquito
- well for one, you called the guy a monkey********
- And I just pointed to some reference in case you didn't know what it was :)Maaku
- unless Kanye's literally spending time "in the fucking jungle [and] trees, eating ... bananas," then that's some racist shitmonospaced
