there's a problem either with the sensor or the shutter. Time to get a new one :(

ouch! too expensive to repair?
- yeah not worth it. You can get a nice used 40D or if you wanna spend a little bit more a used 5D.ok_not_ok

I think your sensor is dying.

it only happens with some pics, not others? and not in jpg format, only the cr2? well, send it to me if you've given up on it, i could use a new camera :)
- yeah, only cr2. jpg is fine. going to give it a few more days...clarkvisual

have you updated your firmware?
- bigtrick0
yeah, update your firmware. maybe it's gone bad and updating would refresh it.

how often does it happen? does it appear that way on when viewed on the back of the camera?
- mikotondria30
just put all the text there, or use it as negative space.
- clarkvisual0
@sikma - every 20-30 photos. photos looks fine on the back of the camera but on photoshop, picasa etc it shows those white space with a bit of colors.
maybe update firmware will solve the problem. just need to find the usb cable.

card error?
- duckofrubber0
Get a new memory card.
- sikma0
have you tried viewing the file on a different computer? and what method of transferring the images are using? a card reader? or a usb cable to camera? i would try eliminating these things first as i ghighly doubt this is a firmware issue
- clarkvisual0
the memory card are quite new.
yeah, i've tried on windows and mac - still the same. I use Hama usb 2.0 card reader to transfer the photos
- sikma0
try a different card reader and different memory card. eliminate these possibilities first as they're easy to do.
- will do that next time. thanks for your help ;)clarkvisual
