Getting Things Done
Does anyone use this method? If so do you use paper and pencil or software. I have been using omnifocus (
) for about 4 months and I am still not sure if I like it.It just seems that so many things come up in a day that it is just easier to do them on paper. At the same time it is easier to keep everything synced from my software b/c it goes on both macs and the iphone.
Just curious what other people use and if they like it.

dammit sorry about the wrong link to software - it was in my cache from the pic of the day thread here is the real link - http://www.omnigroup.com/applica…

I used 'things' on the iphone for a while, basically just use a notepad now.

i'm not sure a penis shaped potato is considered "software". maybe more of a "hardware" perhaps.

Omnifocus and GTD are kind of heavyweight.
The autofocus system http://www.markforster.net/autof… seems elegant and minimal and matches the kind of workflows I get, does it work? Time will tell.

ha ha. fuckin brilliant accidental link. hope you do that to clients too.

yeah man, i use omnifocus too, but also get what you're saying about paper. when i get the paper urge, i go with it... get it all out (as though it was my 'inbox') and then put it all in omnifocus. omnifocus is just too powerful not to use (especially when you get busier and busier).

if you have time to worry about your todo system this much then you probably don't need one

LOL
Anyway, about OmniFocus: I use a general list program on an iPod or I write it down. I need it to be portable. Great thing OF is available from the app store now.

i don't get people who diss gtd... if you don't need to keep track of what you have to do, you either a). don't have enough to do or b). are being heavily managed by someone else. i'm always shocked that the people who diss these systems at work, are always the ones that "forget" shit that they're supposed to do.
not saying that everyone needs omni and has to know gtd etc... but some sort of task tracking "system" is needed on some level if you're working at your fullest potential...
