So long story short, my Macbook sucks and the CD drive is broken and the HD crashed...
I just got in today a new HD and upgraded the ram. My question is, how do I install the Mac software without a CD drive?
I hear you can do it through the USB drive but I wasn't sure if anyone here had any experience with that or had any other bright ideas that could help me with this situation, thanks in advance!

A few options:
- External DVD drive
- External Hard Drive
- Flash Drive
- Network InstallThe IT guy probably has a location he can point you to so you can install the software over the network, otherwise use one of these other options.

You can put the system install DVD on a USB stick or a memory card, it'll need an 8GB one. You need to format the card as GUID and restore a DVD image to it, there are tutorials online.
If you don't have a way to copy the DVD to an USB stick/card, you might torrent a system image down from the interwebz.

If all else fails, go to:
http://www.adobe.com/downloads/
And download the free trials of the software you had, then ask your IT guy for the serial numbers.
- because Adobe can solve his broken DVD and HD problemsmonospaced

Thanks all for the advice/insight with this. I think I am going to try the USB route and hope for the best...
