Okay this is real random and I am sorry.
I was contacted by a friend, she has been working on some fonts and needs some help publishing them and what not.
I know this is random and it seems weird but... she wants to get some fonts going and sell them with the proceeds going like 60/40.
If you are interested let me know... its in the LA (not Louisiana) area.

so what is the question?

Not really a question she wants to partner with a typographer and sell the fonts.60% to her - 40% to (enter typographer here)
- Etype0
so she is just asking for someone to publish the fonts on a webpage? I don't understand the "what not"

Wait, is she a type designer? Why does she need a typographer to help her publish? If she needs a typographer to design type, why give them only 40%?

I think he means "how can she sell a typef through a foundry getting 60/40".

To all, a bit of clarity:
She is not a designer nor is she a typographer. She works for a record label but has been designing type because she loves it.
She needs someone to take the drawings or files and make them into a workable font (kerning, tracking....).
She has no budget but would augment it with proceeds from the sales of the fonts (40%).
I hope that helps.

no offense but doesn't sound like a good deal... someone else would be doing the bulk of the work. kerning and tracking it right is much more work that people think.
- Thats what I think. Thats why I said it was random.Knuckleberry

OK so you need a type designer, not a typographer per se.
Maybe jimbojones could help? Mau? 5timuli? Granted those guys are graphic designers, i.e. typographers too, but they can also create functioning fonts.
