anyone have it here?
i went in for some blood-work last week and the results are back and my Dr. wants me to come in to discuss the results. I am assuming she is going to say I have diabetes (it runs in my family, my dad, grandfather, etc.)
- d_rek0
No, but am friends with someone who developed type1 from one of their internal organs malfunctioning (forget which, appendix, pancreas... idk). Seems like a big fucking hassle. My sympathies.

FYI,
The whole thing about 'diseases' being genetic is a crock of bullsh%t.
Go with alternative treatments.

- I have no idea who Bruce Lipton is, but not all 'alternative treatments' are BS.ismith
- Bruce Lipton is an acclaimed scientist. He studies the link between thought and matter, biology and quantum physicsraf

I get it - your name 'slinky' is one of those ironic names... like you're really big and fat and that's why you got the sugarbetes, right?
- I'm sorry, that was mean. I just really wanted to use 'sugarbetes'flashbender
- wow that's so mean, fb- some people have feelings here.doesnotexist

The whole thing about 'alternative treatments' is a crock of bullsh%t.
- when it works, it workspascii
- but then, i think it must be different in the rest of teh world than herepascii
- when it works, it's probably from an 'actual' treatment instead and purely coincidence. Because it's BS.monospaced
- Of course, stay with pharma companies' endorsed treatments, ridicule scientists who offer other treatmentsraf

My dad has had diabetes for about 18 years so far. Lately he's been managing it (well, better than he normally does). He still needs to lose a lot of weight though. He's not obese or even close to obese but losing weight will definitely help him out significantly.
Just make sure you change your health around, make it your priority in life. Seriously. These computer jobs sitting at a desk makes you forget that when you were younger you had gym class everyday.
It gets pretty bad for him sometimes with the shaking and all. It runs in my family too but I haven't gotten it yet. I can't imagine having to inject myself with insulin all of the time.
Good luck.
- "He still needs to lose a lot of weight though." That probably means he's obese. Sorry.monospaced
- Nah. Not obese at all. He's about 6'4" and 260 lbs. Not 'that' big.fyoucher1
- interestingmonospaced
- you don't have to be big to be obese. If you have little muscle it doesn't take much to be in the danger zone.Amicus

Did he mention diabetes? Or did he just say "Come in to discuss the results?"
That could be anything from "You need to lower your cholesteral" to "you have diabetes" to "your stillborn twin is feeding off your liver." Kind of a range. My dr. told me to come in to discuss. I was convinced I had dick cancer or something. Turned out I had Epstein Bar. So, you never know. Just relax, mang.

At 36 I really doubt you'll have type 1, which is good because you would be in it for the long haul. Type 2 you can keep at bay with exercise and eating right so if you have to have it type 2 would be the lesser of two evils.
If you do get diagnosed with diabetes (type 1 or 2), get serious about your health. Diabetes can wreak havoc on your blood vessels and other things causing some serious health issues later in life.
- Get serious about your health if you only have a splinter.CyBrain

- That chart probably doesn't factor in muscle and bone density which is a much heavier mass.fyoucher1
- well, its not an exact chart. Youd need to see a doctor. But there are 3 separate, widely accepted formulas on display here.baseline_shift
- the fact of the matter is that most people are average. In bone density and muscle mass, so this is fairly accurate.baseline_shift
- I would look skeletal if I weighted 155... and i"m 5 foot 10.... I did weigh this much after a bike accident once, couln't eat without pukingvaxorcist
- well what do you weigh?baseline_shift

Diabetes is no joke. My mother in law was diagnosed with prediabetes so I did a lot of research looking for info to try and help her. I was totally clueless about glucose and the body and I surprised to learn that foods made with predominantly white flour were as bad as sugar. You might really have to mod your diet if that is your diagnosis. I try to eat foods that are lower on the glycemic index. I think it is a healthier way to eat anyway.

FYI - Arthur Kade said he has Diabetes. His post about it was just insane:
Here are the diabetes related parts:
I am the master of not caring what “The Katers: say about me, and how some jealous and sad ones try to derail “The Journey”, but the truth is that the biggest Hater I have is the one inside of me, “The Diabetes” (My Kadeism for my Type 2 Diabetes). I was diagnosed earlier this year when I had all the symptoms (Dry Mouth, Tiredness, Lightheaded, and peeing a ton), and I knew both my grandparents had it (My grandfather died from it), but refused to take medicine my doctor wanted to give me because I can beat anything myself, and actually brought my sugar levels down with crazy work out and diet. I didn’t want pills because I heard they cause erectile dysfunction, and I remember years ago when I took home a Random Philly 8 from 32 Degrees to have some fun with and “One Night” I was so drunk and blacked out that I couldn’t get it up, and when we got up in the morning she was annoyingly weird, so I said, “What is your problem?”, and she replied “You couldn’t get hard last night”, and I said, “I was beyond fucked up. My bad”, and then had sex with her twice in the morning and then got her out of the house to go right back to sleep. Her body was sloppier than I thought it would bewhich is why drunk sex can be a disaster the next morning, because she had “Pencil Tits with Coke Can Nipples”, Thick “Baby Bearing Hips”, and was like a cavern inside. I ran into her at 32 again a couple weeks later after not calling her again, and she was mad at first but then tried to hook up with me again, but I blew her off, and when my boy asked me why, I said, “Dude, It was like The Grand Canyon in there”.
Lately, I have been very lax with my diet and drinking (I have been celebrating all of my early success in “The Journey”, and although I have been hooking up with girls left and right, I have been feeling tired and run down), and have been drinking way too much with the Phillies in the playoffs, and I am starting to see the symptoms returning (Dry Mouth, Peeing a lot, Tired and Lethargic) and to counteract I will consume 6-8 Red Bulls, 1-2 Scoops of No-Xplode, coffee, and soda throughout the day, but the truth is I need to go back into “Peak Kade Performance Mode” before the symptoms get worse. I am so focused on changing “The Biz”, and being the biggest actor and author in the world that I forget to focus on Arthur Kade. I left an email right now for the producer of the potential pilot where I play a gay doctor to see if the production schedule is near ready yet.

Yes, you read that correctly. To counteract the "side effects" of diabetes, he will "consume 6-8 Red Bulls, 1-2 Scoops of No-Xplode, coffee, and soda throughout the day"
- streetking0
6-8 red bulls, coffee and sode.Man look the diadetes moster will kill his ass if he do not stop that crap
