Gotta move to one of em.
Pros/cons, which one's better?

should be a good game. can't wait.

I live in Portland. So go to Seattle.

I love both - Seattle is a larger (and taller) version of Portland in my mind. I'd happily move to either.

do you a have a job lined up?

this is discussed every month here but i'll give my 2 cents again.
Portland is a little more grungier, more laid back, not as metrosexual as Seattle.
Be prepared to grow a beard or ironic mustache, buy a dog, ride a fix gear or subaru if you move to Portland.

define "gotta move to one of them"
- yes, please explain this ultimatum of how you have to move to one of the two largest cities in the Pacific NWPoint5

- She's from out there and wants to move back. Her folks are split up and ones in P and the others in SBK
- I've been to and like both but not sure where I'd rather live.BK
- who's got more money? Which one do you like better? Who's a better cook?fooler2
- Pops has a sweet pad but I'm not trying to live in it!BK

i visited both recently as possible moving options in a couple years, and feel portland has a better vibe to it.

Living in Seattle, I'd go for Portland.
Not that I've visited all they much or know that much about it, but it's gotta be better than here;)

BK, where you at now?

Living in Seattle I say Seattle, Portland seems a bit to small to me. Its fun to visit. I think there is more opportunity and better living in Seattle, music, food, events etc...

My friend moved from Brooklyn to Seattle and only lasted 1 year before moving back. She said if she would have moved to Portland she'd still be here.
P.S. Portland has better food than Seattle
P.S.S. New York Times has been in love with Portland for the past few years.http://travel.nytimes.com/2009/0…

How's the jobby-job market out there these days? Getting better or still in the crapper?
- SigDesign0
I love both places, but chose Portland, because it's more affordable and more laid back, great music and arts scene, and less developed... basically everything is better for my tastes, except the job market.
If you don't have a job, Seattle would be easier for you... many more jobs.
I have heard that it rains more in Seattle, which makes sense, because it's closer to the ocean.

If you move to Portland you can also have the privileged of dating:
"Woodburn Barbie"
This recently paroled Bilingual Barbie comes with a 9mm handgun, a Ray Lewis knife, a Chevy with dark tinted windows, and a Meth Lab Kit. This model is only available after dark and must be paid for in cash (preferably small, untraceable bills) unless you are a cop, then we don't know what you are talking about.

Portland boasts more than 50 strip clubs — believed to be the most per capita of any U.S. city. Seattle has its knickers in a twist about just four.
- fooler20
Mary's Club is a must see.
I think it's the oldest strip club in town, they have a jukebox instead of a DJ and the dancers take your tip money directly to it and select their next song. Plus they have no cover and the old blue hair lady behind the bar will sell you a PBR for $2.50.

i lived in both for a couple years. i prefer seattle. very similar cities though. alot of cool restuarants, galleries. I like the people more in seattle. Everyone thinks they are cool for moving to portland. Seattle is less pretentious. Weather is similar. Economy is similar. Portland has more breweries and strip clubs though. so theres that...
