can't believe i'm this far into my career and still don't know how to do this...
but if a font family displays in drop menus as a list of individual styles and not family>styles, how can i regroup?
there's some restore families cmnd in suitcase but deosn't seem to be doing the trick.

i remember doing it way back in the days of ATM but my memory ain't what it used to be.

if you mean the font groups in the font manager like FEX, there's an option on the right of the information button
suitcase must have something similar
If you mean the font menu in InDesign or something, if the fonts weren't linked together by the vendor, there's not much you can do unless you edit the font files with FontLab or similar.

yeah thx rkrd... i do mean condensing the font menu in our design apps (not font managers). could have sworn there was something less intrusive than editing in fontlab. but guess i could be wrong.(btw: it's easy to toggle between font and family in suitcase, cmd-E.)
- InDesign only has the option to set font preview sizes I believerkrd
